The event on February 23, 2025, aims to amplify awareness of the ongoing struggles faced by the Ukrainian people. Together, we can remind the world of the urgent need to help Ukraine in this darkest hour. Your voice can inspire and strengthen our community's resolve to stand in solidarity with Ukraine.

On February 3rd, citizens of Palm Beach County of all nationalities, religious beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and political views will join our Ukrainian-American community to exercise their democratic right to peacefully protest the performance of Ms. Netrebko. Members of the public are invited to join us and make our voices heard strongly, but most importantly, peacefully. Our goal is to ensure that art represents humanity, not oppression or propaganda that whitewashes Russian culture and performers with ties to Putin's regime. We distance ourselves from any type of violence, harassment, or threatening behavior. Our peaceful protest has been coordinated with local law enforcement authorities and will strictly adhere to all rules and regulations.

UA Florida is deeply concerned about the scheduled performance of Russian soprano Anna Netrebko at Palm Beach Opera on February 3, 2025. Her public support for Russian President Vladimir Putin and the invasion of Ukraine is troubling and contradicts American values of freedom and democracy. Ms. Netrebko has openly posed with symbols associated with Russian-backed separatists in Ukraine and has donated significant funds, received from the Putin regime, to institutions dedicated to erasing Ukrainian culture in Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine. These actions highlight her alignment with a regime responsible for countless war crimes and cultural genocide.

Ukrainian art workshop inspired by Maria Prymachenko's art by Oksana Urban www.oksanaurbanart.com.

Maria Prymachenko was a Ukrainian folk art painter who worked in the naïve art style. A self-taught artist, she worked in painting, embroidery, and ceramics.

In 1966, Prymachenko was awarded the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared that 2009 was the year of Prymachenko. A street in Kyiv and a minor planet are both named after her. Pablo Picasso once said, after visiting a Prymachenko exhibition in Paris at the 1937 World's Fair, "I bow down before the artistic miracle of this brilliant Ukrainian.
